Objective BovineControl is a comprehensive AgTech platform designed to modernize and optimize the management of livestock operations. Its primary goal is to centralize critical ranching data—including animal health records, weight progression (growth tracking), medical inventory, and feed consumption—into a single, intuitive dashboard. The system provides real-time financial oversight by comparing operational costs (investment in feed and medicine) against projected market values based on live animal weights. By automating alerts for critical health events and providing visual data analytics, BovineControl empowers ranchers to shift from reactive to proactive management, ensuring higher profitability and improved animal welfare. How this project was born The project was born from a personal family venture. When my father and I started our cattle fattening business, we initially relied on Excel spreadsheets to track our financials, weight records, and health logs. We soon realized that this method was a significant administrative bottleneck. Every time we performed a task with the animals, we had to manually open the spreadsheet and navigate through cells to log the information. This constant manual overhead was incredibly tedious and friction-heavy, making it difficult to keep our records accurate and up to date in real-time. Frustrated by the inefficiency of generic spreadsheets, I decided to build BovineControl: a purpose-built application designed to simplify data entry and replace the burden of manual logging with a streamlined, intuitive interface tailored to the actual workflow of the ranch.
Project Objective The objective of this project is to eliminate the manual overhead of personal expense tracking. It provides a seamless, "zero-touch" pipeline that converts bank notification emails into actionable financial data. By bridging the gap between a user's inbox and a modern analytics dashboard, the system offers real-time visibility into spending habits, automated budgeting, and intelligent transaction categorization. How it was Born This project was born out of personal frustration with the friction of traditional budgeting apps. Most financial tools require manual input or complex bank integrations that often fail. I noticed that my bank sends real-time email notifications for every transaction. I realized these emails were a goldmine of data being ignored. I started with a simple Python script to parse these emails into Google Sheets. As my needs grew, so did the project: 1. Automation: I integrated GitHub Actions to handle the heavy lifting daily without my intervention. 2. Intelligence: I noticed that merchant names are often cryptic (e.g., "UBR* PENDING" instead of "Uber"). I integrated the Google Gemini API to intelligently categorize these "unclear" transactions using AI. 3. Visualization: I built a React + TypeScript frontend to move beyond simple spreadsheets, creating a visual dashboard with Recharts to track trends and manage "Tasa 0" (installment plans) which are otherwise hard to track across different months. Today, it stands as a robust full-stack solution that saves hours of manual data entry every month and provides high-fidelity financial insights.
Project Overview & Origin Montiel Automotive is a high-performance web platform designed to bridge the gap between traditional automotive services and the modern digital consumer. The project originated from a strategic collaboration with a local workshop owner looking to scale their family-run business and professionalize their online presence. The primary objective was to move beyond a static "business card" website. Instead, we built a functional ecosystem that empowers customers to: • Schedule Appointments: A seamless, real-time booking system that reduces administrative overhead. • Request Dynamic Quotes: An automated intake process that allows users to receive service estimates based on specific vehicle needs. • Explore Services & Products: A curated digital catalog showcasing the workshop's expertise and inventory. This transformation was driven by the need to capture leads outside of business hours and provide a premium, trust-building experience for a new generation of car owners. Technical Stack The project leverages a modern stack focused on performance, SEO, and user experience: • Core Framework: Astro 5 — Utilizing Islands Architecture to deliver lightning-fast page loads while selectively hydrating interactive components. • UI Library: React 19 — Powers the complex state management required for the multi-step appointment and quotation forms. • Styling & Design: Tailwind CSS 4 — A utility-first approach ensuring a fully responsive, modern, and consistent design system. • Animations & UX: - GSAP (GreenSock): For high-end micro-interactions and scroll-triggered animations. - Lenis: For refined smooth-scrolling behavior across all devices. • Communication & Services: - Resend API: Handles all transactional emails for appointment confirmations and quotes. - Leaflet: Integrated interactive mapping for workshop location and proximity. • Type Safety & Validation: - TypeScript: Full-stack type safety to minimize runtime errors. - Zod & React Hook Form: Robust client-side and server-side schema validation for all user inputs. • Globalization: Native i18n support (English/Spanish) to cater to a diverse local and international customer base. • Deployment: Optimized for Vercel using Edge Functions for global performance.
